On Friday the first of December, 24 students from first, second and third year braved the
freezing cold temperatures to take part in the Cork School’s Cross-Country event held in Riverstick.
Our first years competed fantastically well. Amazingly all 9 of our runners finished inside the top 16
places, all picking up medals with Dylan O’ Shea winning the race. This was a fantastic
achievement in a race where there were over 110 competitors. This success, bodes well for the south Munster Cross-Country Championship which will be held in Waterford after Christmas.
The second and third years ran in the same race in which Brendan O Leary finished best of our
lads in third place. Two more picked up medals by finishing in the top 20. Overall, we had an
enjoyable day out. This experience will stand to the boys before the South Munster competition.
