Technology is a practical subject with approximately 45% of the terminal exam weighted towards practical work (depending on the level of study taken). It is offered to students from first year onwards. Routine classroom based projects are produced to gain practical knowledge of building processes and electronics, culminating in both third year and sixth year in an artefact including electronics being built, accompanied by a portfolio of work. The academic aspect of the subject includes design/mechanics/materials/electronics/CAD.
Fourth year technology is focused more on woodworking and the students produce and take home their own work.
