Pastoral Care

In line with our mission statement we at De La Salle College are committed to promoting all aspects of the growth and development of each student in a caring environment. We place huge emphasis on the development of individual student’s life skills and self-esteem. Each class is assigned an individual class teacher. The class teacher provides academic and personal support to all the students in their class. They monitor the educational progress of all students in their care while also looking at the personal and social development of each student. The school has a full time Guidance Counsellor – Mary O’Connor, who provides educational, vocational and personal & social guidance for all students.  

The school’s Pastoral Care Team consists of the Career Guidance teacher, the Special Education Co-ordinator, the Principal and the Deputy Principal. The team meets on a weekly basis to discuss any students who are identified as needing some assistance.
