A CAO Information Evening for Students & Parents is taking place on Tuesday, 17 January at 6.30pm. Registration is now open at www.cao.ie/webinarPlease note that spaces for the live online event are limited however, a recording will be available from noon on the 20 January at www.cao.ie/webinar for those who are unable to attend the live event. The event will consist of a presentation on the CAO application process, advice on choosing courses, and supports for parents/guardians. There will also be a live Q&A with representatives of a number of the Higher Education Institutions.

MTU Cork campus Disability Support Service (DSS) will be running an ON CAMPUS information session on DARE (Disability Access Route to Education) for secondary school students with learning differences, health conditions or disabilities, and their parents/guardians, and teachers.It is taking place on Wednesday 30th November 2022 6.30 – 8.00pm on the MTU Bishopstown campus.The information session will go through the DARE admissions scheme, the 2023 DARE CAO application process, how DARE offers are made in MTU, and give an overview of MTU Cork campus DSS supports. COLLEGE OPEN DAYS & APPRENTICESHIP DAY
On October 20th group of 37 leaving cert students attended the open day in the University of Limerick. The students attended various lectures and found the day very informative. We also attended the open day in MTU on Friday November 18th and the students visited all the information stands in the Nexus Centre as well as attending various talks in different departments varying from Coaching Sciences to Architecture. The students found the open day very beneficial in helping to inform their decisions about  future course choices .
39 5th and 6th year students attended a SOLAS Apprenticeship day on Tuesday 22nd November. Students visited all the various workshops including Refrigeration, Electrician, Instrumentation,
 Motor Mechanics & Carpentry. There were also various employers which gave the students an opportunity to ask questions about their opportunities as apprentices.

The UCC School of Mathematical Sciences will host its annual Open Dayon Monday 5th December from 2pmin G05, Western Gateway Building, UCC for TY, 5th and 6th year students.

Parents and teachers are also welcome to attend and talk to our staff and students about the programmes we offer in the School.
 
Tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided after the talks.

Just a reminder that theMTU Cork campus DARE (Disability Access Route to Education) and DSS supports information talks are taking place later this month.

Fifth year and Leaving Certificate students, parent/guardians/supports and teachers are welcome to book a place.

 

 

Booking is essential and will close 24-48 hours before the event date. Please feel free to circulate this email and poster to anyone who may interested.

HOW TO APPLY TO UNIVERSITY IN THE UK AND NORTHERN IRELAND – AN OVERVIEW

An overview of what is required:

 Apprenticeship Roadshow
Apprenticeship Roadshow organised by the Cork Education & Training Board and hosted by Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai and its Parent Association will run from 7 to 9pm on Thursday 13th October in the school’s gym/hall.
On the night all information will be given on the many types of apprenticeships ranging from the familiar traditional ones such as carpentry, plumbing etc, to the new generation of apprenticeships such as cyber security, accountancy technician etc.
Employers from the West Cork area will be present as well as Consortium representatives from the new area of apprenticeships, will be on hand to answer all questions.
