Running in memory of Daniel Kingston   12/03/2021

Daniel Kingston is a familiar name in the town Macroom.

Daniel did his Leaving Cert in De La Salle College in 2002. He is very fondly remembered here as an excellent student, skillful footballer and just a reallly nice guy. He was extremely pleasant, highly regarded by his peers and well respected by his teachers. His untimely passing at such a young age was heartfelt by all his former teachers.

It is great to see David Neville (first year) keeping his uncle's memory alive in what has been a wonderful contribution to such a worthwhile cause. David with his two friends and classmates, James Cuddihy and Ruadhán McKenna, are in the process of running a 5K a day for lent to raise money for Cork Arc in Daniel's name. They have covered 120km so far and stopped by the school after today's run. The boy's have showed tremendous character and we are very proud of them here in De La Salle. Such a massive undertaking at a young age. It is great to see the boy's motivating and supporting one another, they have demonstrated in true fashion what friendship is all about.

Best of luck David, James and Ruadhán from the school and congratualtions on your achievement so far.

James, Ruadhán, Mr. Murphy and David
