Hurling Blitz   04/04/2019

On Wednesday, April third, the under fourteen and a half hurling team took part in a county hurling blitz in the impressive Pairc Uí Chaoimh. The stadium and 4G pitch didnt overshadow the excellent display of hurling shown on the day. De La Salle had some impressive wins which qualified them for the shield semi- final, the top two teams qualifying for a seperate cup final. They were the far superior team in both the semi-final and final winning them the shield prize accepted by captain Eoin Healy. And what a deserving captain, with his outstanding saves all day a big contributing factor to their final qualification. There were great performances across the day with the hard work of Daragh Fitzgibbon, Chalie Burke and Sam Pickering to be noted and in the forward line Daragh McMahon proved a nightmare for any back attempting to mark him for the day. Daragh caught three accurate puck outs and put them straight over the bar, lovely to watch! Well done to the boys on a great day of hurling.
