Mrs Walsh with Ms Mary O' Connor and members of the school's Student Council

As part of our Positive Mental Health awareness week De la Salle college invited Elma Walsh ( mother of inspirational teenager Donal Walsh, Tralee) to talk to the senior students. She had a very simple message for the students-S O S-Sleep , Outdoors & Spirituality were the three key elements she highlighted for positive well - being. This was the message Donal wanted to leave to teenagers. Donal who fund raised tirelessly while battling Cancer has now had the Donal Walsh #Livelife Foundation set up by his family in order to promote his anti-suicide message as well as forward his causes of providing age appropriate teenage facilities in hospital and hospice centres. The parents of Donal Walsh have opened up about the legacy he wanted them to carry forward and have set up a foundation in his name
Everyone who attended was very inspired by the strength and courage of Elma Walsh and the question and answer session afterwards allowed the students to get a greater insight into the life of Donal.
