Lunchtime Activities
Everyday 4th year mentors supervise lunchtime activites for the Junior Years. Activites range from homework club to boardgames like chess.
Gaelic Games
Being located in Mid-Cork, there is a high interest and uptake in both Gaelic Football and Hurling in De La Salle. There are plenty of opportunities to engage in GAA from first year, with football and hurling blitzes, right up to to Leaving Cert, with senior football and senior hurling. De La Salle has a very storng tradition in Football, having won the Coirn Ui Mhuire competition last in 2006. They continue to be very competitive in A grade senior colleges football. The hurling has enjoyed great success in recent years, winning the u16 C competition in 2016 and being narrowly defeated in the same grade final in 2018.
Athletics
Students avail of athletic training during P.E and partake in a number of competitions throughout the year. Athletics is led by teachers Mr. Shane Ryan and Mr. Conor Kinsella.
Debating
TY students take part in a number of debating competitions throughout Transition Year. This is facilitated by their teacher Ms. Nicola Crowley.
Subject Quizzes
Pupils takepart in a number of subject quizzes throughout the year. These can include Chemistry, Business, History, Science, Irish and Maths.
