De La Salle College Macroom

Charity Work

Our students participate in many  fund raising events for charity during the year. Every Christmas, our Transition Year students spend two days collecting money for the Macroom Charities Appeal- this benefits charities such as the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the COPE Foundation, Meals On Wheels and Macroom Senior Citizens.

Also at Christmas, the school participates in the annual shoebox appeal, which sends Christmas presents to needy children both at home and abroad.

No-uniform days are often held during the school year, with a large number of varying worthy causes benefitting from the proceeds. These have included Our Lady's Hospital for sick children in Crumlin, the Hope Foundation and the Simon Community.
