De La Salle College Macroom

Past Pupils' Union

The Past Pupils' Union of De La Salle Macroom was initiated as far back as 1958, and enjoyed many years of activity before fading somewhat. In recent times, a comeback has been staged, and the school once again has a thriving association of proud allumni. The P.P.U. greatly benefits the school by, for example, lending support to the Career Guidance department - several past pupils, from various walks of life, have come back to the school and given the present students the benefit of their experience through lectures, "mock" interviews etc. All of this is strongly encouraged and well appreciated by the school. The P.P.U. also helps to organise the annual golf classic, held every year in Macroom Golf Club to raise funds for the school building project.

Recently, a Past Pupils' reunion was held in the school for those who were in First Year in the school in the year 1961. A great night was had by all.
